Pilates is for anyone and everyone

 FAQs

  • Pilates focuses on strengthening and lengthening the entire body, muscle by muscle. Each class provides a full body workout, while there will likely be a focus on 1 or 2 body parts. Pilates is suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. See class descriptions to find the one that is best for you.

  • You do not need to be flexible and fit in order to start Pilates. In fact, doing Pilates will make you fit and flexible.

  • If you have never done Pilates but you exercise regularly and are ready to introduce Pilates to your training you are welcome to join our Level 1 class to learn the basics of the machine and fundamentals of Pilates. You are welcome to join the Level 1.5 class if you are looking for more of a challenge.

If you have never done Pilates nor do you exercise regularly, you should get to know your body, the reformer and the Pilates method by joining a Level 1 class.

  • We provide all equipment including mats. Grip socks are mandatory for reformer classes: bring your own or purchase some in studio. Of course, bring your own water bottle; we don’t want to be sharing those.

  • Pilates, like any form of exercise, can help you lose weight if you do it regularly. But what determines if you will do it regularly is how much you enjoy doing it. While the Pilates method encourages strict form, at Prime Pilates, we also want it to be fun. Our compassionate instructors and energizing playlists make each class a fun activity you look forward to instead of a chore you avoid.

electric chair

intermediate/advanced

The Pilates chair is unlike any gym equipment: you must find the balance between push and pull, strength and stretch, tension and release. It keeps your form honest so you function at your best.

The intermediate/advanced chair class is appropriate for  experienced clients who are familiar with the reformer and want to progress to the chair. Advanced options will be offered for some exercises.

all level 2 classes require prior reformer experience
